News from Term 4, Week 5

As we tick over the half-way mark for the final term of 2024, take a look over the last fortnight of news from St Thomas More School:

Class Update | Year 2/RG

As part of our writing this term, 2RG have been learning how to write persuasive texts. We have written about all kinds of different things from whether recess should be longer to which fruit is better: kiwis or mangos. We came up with many different reasons to support our points of view and even included introductions and conclusions.”

Highlights from our Athletics Day efforts!

On Wednesday, 25 of our year 3 – 6 students participated in the Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival at the SA Athletics Stadium (formally SANTOS Stadium). Our team was entered into a varierty of athletics events with many students helping out in other year levels. St Thomas More School won the Year 4 championship! We’re super proud of Thomas M – the overall winner of Year 4 – Boys – Individual Event.

Many of our students should also be very impressed with their efforts, gaining place ribbons.

Thank you to all of the students for their efforts leading up to the carnival and for the way they represented the school displaying great sportspersonship. We also thank our teachers, co-educators, and volunteers who supported the students on the day.

Lest We Forget

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun
and in the morning

We will remember them.
Lest we forget

Thank you to our Reception class groups for their wonderful Remembrance Day Liturgy on 11 November. It was a true reflection of the feelings of respect and loss that we have, as Australians, for those who have died as a result of their service to the nation.
