News from Term 4, Week 1, 2024

We officially welcome you to Term 4, our final term for the 2024 school year. With only 9 weeks, the shortest term will no doubt fly-by notoriously fast. So let’s get straight into it:

Class Update | Reception SH

Our Reception students have been writing their own stories. This is their first attempt at Inventive Writing. They did this in pairs independently, encouraging confidence with their writing skills. Then they went to another class and read their stories to other students.

Mercy Day

Term 3 finished off with a bang! When we think back to our Mercy Day celebrations, we can’t but make a smile that goes from ear to ear.
Our students, staff, and family members created some pretty awesome core memories as they took part in the massive range of run activities. The Colour Fun Run was a clear highlight, followed closely behind by a visit from SAPOL and our local firies, a face painting station, the wicked bounce house, and more…
With all the fun we had on Mercy Day, we take stock in the true meaning behind it all, and honour the Mercy Values that underpin our school philosphy – Compassion, Justice, Hospitality, Service and Courage. Read more about our Mercy Fundraising Charities.

Jump Rope for Heart

St Thomas More School are participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term in a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation.

Over the coming weeks your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. And the program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on November 1st where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.

When you register your child online, you’ll get access to additional skipping resources to help give your child a great reason to get away from the screens and get outdoors.

Register and create your own secure webpage at www.jumprope.org.au/parents.
