Emotional Regulation Seminar with Madhavi Parker
A Powerful Reminder for Parents and Caregivers
Held at St Thomas More School
Last week, St Thomas More had the privilege of hosting the highly respected and experienced Madhavi Parker for a powerful seminar on Emotional Regulation. Known for her expertise in the field of child mental health and wellbeing, Madhavi delivered a session that was nothing short of transformative.
Parents and caregivers braved the cold, eager to gain insight into how they can better support their children through the ups and downs of emotional development.
Madhavi’s presentation was as eye-opening as it was practical. With warmth, humour, and a healthy dose of truth-telling, she tackled some of the most pressing challenges facing families today — including the impact of excessive screen time, the importance of setting boundaries, and the often-difficult task of simply saying “no.”
Throughout the seminar, attendees were engaged, challenged, and inspired to take a more active role in shaping emotionally intelligent, self-regulated children. Feedback from the evening has been positive, with many parents expressing how grateful they were for Madhavi’s honest, practical advice — even when it was tough to hear.
We extend our sincere thanks to Madhavi Parker for her time, energy, and unwavering commitment to helping families raise emotionally healthy children. For those who attended, it was more than just a seminar — it was a much-needed shift in perspective.
Let’s continue the conversation at home and in our community — because emotional regulation starts with us.
